From April 21 to 23, 2026, Fangtang held the inaugural Walk into AI program in Shenzhen. The program brought humanities scholars into the front lines of AI technology and industry, using on-site experience and cross-disciplinary dialogue to examine how AI enters the world around us.
Observing AI where it is made
The visit included Tencent’s Nanshan headquarters and its Hunyuan foundation model, a “Vibe Thinking + Vibe Building” workshop, autonomous driving, brain-computer interfaces, and the AI ecosystem and Model Camp in Shenzhen’s Nanshan District. Starting from these settings, participants discussed how the development of foundation models may change knowledge, work, and everyday life.
Questions that continue
Walk into AI does not treat a single visit as its endpoint. The program aims to develop an enduring set of questions between technical practice and humanistic inquiry, advancing interdisciplinary methods and collaboration so that discussion of AI remains grounded in concrete technologies, institutions, and human experience.
